The Never Ending Babbleon

Watching Palin News this morning:

How does one vote enthusiastically, one might wonder? Just quoting Gov. Palin once again, regarding representatives of her state who voted for a new pipeline.

Maybe they SHOUT out their vote with vim and vigor? Is that how one votes "enthusiastically"?

Hmmmm .... ok, same ol' same ol'. She wants more oil out of aLASka. OIL OIL OIL. Renewable energy sources are, evidently, not a consideration in her world.

Ahhhhh ...... another quotable statement, "Take it however you want to," referring to her previously released press statement that David Letterman could not be trusted around her daughter.

Ooh, ooh ..... another, "The Candidate who must be obeyed," referring to Barack Obama. Hmmm. Must someone actually give clues to Ms. Palin regarding her ability be equally respected?

Ok, here goes. Perhaps, if she were as intelligent, eloquent, knowledgeable and aware as President Obama, she, also, would receive the respect she so ferociously seeks. Instead, she is continual fodder for late night comedy. In stark contrast to our President. It's so dang TRICKY to make fun of someone who actually makes sense!

It just gets better and dumber. Republican spitefulness is backfiring. Most of us are onto them. Do you think they'll realize prior to the next election?

Java Jabber

I should know better than to sit here watching the news as I answer email and sip my ultra delicious Delta Mud Alterra coffee. I should, but I don't. So here goes.

HAPPY BIMBO DAY

First I'm treated to the announcement that Carrie Prejean has been fired as Miss California. I guess this is huge news in some circles. Golly gee, Cali got 'em a new beauty queen. Woo ...... who givesaflock.

Evidently not only can't this bigoted bimbo keep her mouth shut, she can't adhere to her bimbo contract, either. What a loss.

In further bimbo news it is reported that Gordon Ramsay, celebrity chef (never heard of him and what does that mean anyhow ...... he flips burgers for movie stars?), ran his obviously misogynistic pie hole off about an innocent TV news woman in Australia.

Public outcry has forced him to not only apologize but lie about the nature of his apology.

Glad she (the TV woman) stood up for herself but again, does anyone care about this celebrity burger man?

You want fries with that?

In more serious news, bigoted white supremacist (puts the first two to shame) James W. Von Brunn, 88, entered the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC yesterday armed with his .22 caliber rifle intending to do as much harm as possible.

Indeed he did kill one guard prior to being blasted into bigot hell by two others.

If you have the stomach for his racist diatribes, here are a couple of links:

Bigot Blather

Huffington Post Story

He's the famed (only in white supremacy circles) author of "Kill the Best Gentiles" (whew, I'm safe) and MENSA member. Wha? So intelligence has less to do with bigotry than I assumed? This will take more research .........

My take on this: there's more to this story than has yet been reported.

Addendum: I just checked my MENSA directory and James von Brunn is not listed. Seems he was an attention seeker so I'm guessing he did not hide his profile (i.e. the report of him being a MENSA member is wrong).

The bimbo news is never ending today .... or is it always like this?

WARNING, WARNING, WILL ROBINSON! Yet another "reality show" hits the airwaves ..... this time on WE television.

Ok, first of all, reality shows are never about reality. Reality is those of us out here actually living WITHOUT a camera shoved up our nostril.

So now we have another family with too many kids about to be thrown into the limelight (this may be an overstatement: it's on WE TV) a la the photo above of the (for now) happy family surrounded by photo umbrellas. Sure looks real to me.

I know, I know, that's Mighty Mouse. I just put him there because he's my favorite.

And finally (thank the Goddess, I've turned off the TV) on "The Early Show", a man (?) sitting next to the anchors, wearing a super hero suit and mask ....... with cape and codpiece. Something about going out to schools to teach children something or other. I blanked it.

I'm done.

Dear Goddess: PLEASE tell the Republicans to nominate Sarah Palin for Prez in 2012

“That’s pretty pathetic, good ole David Letterman.” Palin said Letterman was part of a media culture “where everything is commentary and facts don’t matter anymore.”

Ahhhhh ...... kinda like FOX News then, Miss Sarah?

Did you miss the big GOP blowout?

Last night the GOP had a good ol' Washington, DC fund raiser, accompanied by the usual right-wing blathering and unfounded attacks.

Jon Voight emceed the event. I quote: “Obama as a candidate portrayed himself as a moderate but turned out to be wildly radical,” Voight said, “Everything Obama has recommended has turned out to be disastrous.”

No wonder even his own daughter won't speak to him. I'd be mildly interested to know what he feels is a disaster. But only mildly. Perhaps he thinks that saving the country from a depression is disastrous.

Unable to come up with an original thought, Voight repurposed the campaign slander regarding Bill Ayers again. Well, I suppose when you don't have anything concrete to complain about you might as well go back to the same old harpy lies and innuendo, eh?

Newt Gingrich was the central speaker. This is the Newt Gingrich who hasn't held elected office for what ...... a decade now? He won the headlining speaker slot, beating out the ever in the background Governor Palin. Now there's a choice for ya. Both are hoping to receive the nomination for President in 2012. I'm hoping that Parah Salin will get the nomination ....... not only because she would ensure a Republican loss but just imagine the jokes based on her grammatical skills alone!

"I'm the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can't." --Sarah Palin, as quoted by former City Council Member Nick Carney, after he raised objections about the $50,000 she spent renovating the mayor's office without approval of the city council.

One might wonder if at some point the Repos will recognize the irony of having an actor emcee their event. All their harping criticism of "liberal Hollywood" and claims that actors should just "do their jobs" and stop talking about politics. Yet Jon Voight's opinions (rehashed though they may be) bring huge applause.

Hmmmmm ....... so actors are stupid if they're liberals and should just shut up ...... but if they are hate-minded conservatives their opinions are valid. Ok. I get it now. Repos hate actors who speak out, but elect their own to office (Schwarzenegger, Reagan, Thompson [Fred]). Does this mean that their actors should just "shut up and act", or ............ explain that one.

Although Gingrich is making attempts to appear as though he is pandering less to the radical religious right Republican minority (he knows that's the only way to get elected), when one reads their speech copy, it's just same ol' same ol'.

Sigh.

Word Salad

I'm not going to print the entire Sarah Palin speech here for you. The link's up top if you really want to word salad yourselves into oblivion by reading its entirety.

Here are some stupefying excerpts from her speech of a couple days past, where she introduces the wonderful, enlightening Michael Reagan. Enjoy if you can.

"So Ronald Reagan spoke to us then, with us, here in our hearts is where he reached us and that's where he won the arguments and then -- this was the good part -- and then we, the American people, through him, we imposed our will on Washington, and that is the way it is supposed to be. Our government is supposed to be working for us. We are not to be working for our government...(Applause)...and our will is to be imposed on them."

Huh?

She then goes on to say:

"He captured our hearts so he could effect positive change by, what he did, he focused on our kids, on our children, on their future, on the future of America; and when he fought socialism and any sort of tyranny that he knew would ruin us, he stood strong on his knowing that the framework through which he believed, that positive change, that framework, for our kids, it was freedom."

As the child of educators, I stand in awe of Ms. Palin's lack of grammatical skills. AWE, I tell ya!

Hey, she even had more to say:

"Washington would do to take away our freedoms, it's absolutely astounding, and we would do so well to look back at those Reagan years as he championed the cause for freedom and then he lived it out as our President.

Cheerfully, persistently and unappologetically Reagan knew that real change -- real change requiring "shaking things up" and maybe ticking off the entrenched interests thwarting the will of the people with their ignoring of our concerns about future peril caused by selfish, short-sighted advocacy for growing government and digging more debt and taking away individual and states' rights and hampering opportunity to responsibly develop our resources and coddling those who seek to harm America and her allies."

Oh hell ..... I don't even know where to begin. I think my favorite part is the "thwarting the will of the people with their ignoring of our concerns." Geez, I do that all the time, don't you? Thwart and ignore. My credo.

Oh but she does continue with her words of wisdom:

"What Newt had written in this article, he wrote, remember how refreshing it was with his outrageous directness that Americans loved and craved and deserved that Reagan dealt with, with then the troublesome Soviet Union. Remember this? His vision for the Cold War? We Win! They Lose! (Applause.) And with detente. Speaking of detente, he used two words: "Evil Empire." He called it like he saw it."

Hey I like that: "We win! They lose!" Good one. Brilliant! Concise! Uh .... but followed by something about detente? Ok ..... so she sandwiches "troublesome Soviet Union" with "detente" and "evil empire". Wonder which she hoped would win.

Hold on, there's more:

"And now, why today, I have to ask, why today do we feel we have to kind of pussyfoot around our troublesome foes, say, for example, the terrorists, who still seek to kill Americans and destroy our allies. They haven't changed their tune. Terrorists are still dead set against us and are set on destroying Israel and against our freedoms, against our security, and I've got a kid over there fighting for our country and our country's freedom right now. It is war over there so it will not be war over here and it had better still be our mission that "We win! They Lose!" (Applause.)"

Yes, she got Republican applause for this highly eloquent speech. One of her best, don't you think?

It's the "we" and "they" attitude that dang near sums up the Republican way of thinking. "We good" ..... "they bad."

Hey. I can be eloquent, too.

Oh ya ...... one more thing. She plagiarized much of this "speech" from Newt Gingrich.

The best thing yet for the Democratic Party. Go Parah Salin!
